This month I have picked two very popular patterns from completely different categories. First, the most Versatile Scarf you'll ever knit!
This scarf gently curves around your neck almost in the style of the larger Faroese shawls. The "tails" at the end are long enough to wrap around your neck, tie in the front or pin with a pretty shawl/scarf pin. Deb knit this one using two balls of a beautiful silk from Louisa Harding called Mulberry:
The pattern itself features 3 different stitch patterns and almost endless yarn possibilities. This is the perfect pattern for featuring a special yarn that you've been coveting (Seasilk, Great Big Sea, Malabrigo Silky Merino) a handpainted yarn (Hacho, Chirapa, Malabrigo) or that ONE skein of sock yarn that doesn't want to be socks (Alpaca Sox, Alpaca Prima, Ultra Alpaca Fine). I love the style of this little scarf and enjoy wearing it with the point in front, like this... it seems to be the fashion these days!

Our second pattern this month is a very popular afghan pattern leaflet from Plymouth Yarn (this photo really doesn't do it justice).
This aran afghan is knit in one piece and measures 45 x 56 as its finished size - just big enough to cover you up, while small enough not to drive you crazy while knitting it. While visually complex, a simple staggered cable pattern is repeated over and over along the length of the blanket. Once you've done it a few times, you might even have it memorized! Customers frequently knit this one as a present for a loved one and it always gets rave reviews.
