This is what happens when you're crazy about yarn:
You buy too much of it and have to reorganize! David ordered more slat wall so we could hang/display more yarn in the same amount of space that we've always had. He took out the bookcases where all the Noro/Chunky Encore/Yukon/Lopi etc was and put up the slat wall!
All of the extra yarn got packed up (now there's even stuff overflowing in the back room) and moved a few things around. With the bookcases gone the back of the store is completely opened up - can you see from here? You can see the extra storage up to the ceiling in back, we needed that pretty badly:
Here's a better photo of that first aisle:
My computer station is pushed back towards the corner so I'm not as much in the way. I'm still blocking the wall of malabrigo, but will that really keep you away from the stuff?
One of our main goals for this move was to get all the Ultra Alpaca and it's family out of baskets and onto the wall. Here's Ultra Alpaca Fine, Ultra Alpaca Light, Ultra Alpaca and Cuzco:
Did you know we had hand-dyed silk ribbon? We do! We just never had a good place to hang it up! It's great for accents or even tying up your hand-made present. I want to make some fingerless gloves that lace up the side:
Here's Montera, Peruvia (with new colors!) and Peruvia Quick.
The sock yarn is next to the display posters that show how they stripe (nevermind the feather duster):
Goal #2 of the big move is to display all of the new fall Mirasol yarns together on the wall. We moved last season's so that they are together and this season's new yarns should be in soon. We'll be featuring them - it's a very special yarn line for us. When it comes in I'll write a big post about it.
Hope you like the new layout! If you can't find something that you need just let one of us know. Someone here should know where it is :-)
have fun with the string,
Jen
